Bringing B2B Sales Online
I worked with an industrial company in need of gaining efficiency and happier vendor relationships by digitalising their sales process. First, I led the team who analysed the current processes and technical landscape, and then I led the bigger development team tasked with building a iPad application, API and new integrations to facilitate the new sales process.
The sales process handles some 100 000 000 € yearly, with different contract types, add-ons and pricing alternatives.
The gist of my contribution: Capturing and redesigning a complex purchase process to fit onto one powerpoint slide. Then, leading the team to realise it. It required a combination of service design methods, traditional process mapping and leadership.
In the first phase, I led a team of 2 designers, 1 management consultant, and 1 tech lead, in creating the decision material, scope and business case for the initiative. My role was project lead and service designer.
I was then the Product Owner during the build phase, with a team of 5 developers, 1 designer, and 1 architect.
